MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Employees of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have honored the Agency’s Executive Director, Dr. Emmanuel Yarkpawolo, for what they described as two years of transformational leadership.
They highlighted a new EPA home secured for the agency, the provision of operational vehicles, salary increments, and fostering unity and teamwork among staff.
The workers also noted that the EPA has become more visible nationwide, with stronger enforcement of environmental laws and improved collaboration with local and international partners.
They emphasized that the Agency now has renewed direction and hope, and pledged their continued support in advancing its mandate.
The honor was presented to Dr. Yarkpawolo on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the EPA office in Monrovia.
In response, Dr. Yarkpawolo thanked the staff for what he called a humbling and unexpected honor.
Dr. Yarkpawolo attributed the Agency’s achievements to collective effort, saying he may be the vision bearer, but the real work is done by the entire team.
He urged the employees to remain united and committed to building a stronger EPA for the benefit of Liberia.
The EPA Boss, at the same time, used the program to reaffirm the EPA’s commitment to protecting the Country’s environment.
