MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Center for the Coordination of Response Mechanism has launched its 2026 – 2030 strategic plan, as the entity carries out its statutory mandate.
According to the Center’s Executive Director, Arthur Bestman, the plan focuses on six thematic pillars related to human security.
Bestman named intelligence on trafficking in persons, sexual gender-based violence, land conflicts, cross-border threats, drug abuse, and emerging conflict triggers.
He disclosed that the plan also focuses on decentralization, on the establishment of the National Center for Coordination of Response Mechanism Offices in the 15 counties.
Speaking at the launch on Friday, February 5, 2026, Bestman noted that the five plans will cost 8.7 million United States Dollars.
Meanwhile, a member of the Center’s Board, Veronica Songar- Johnson, vowed that the Board will ensure that the plan will be submitted to Vice President Jeremiah Koung.
Madam Johnson said,” The Board will also submit the plan to relevant stakeholders, including members of the Legislature”.
She said,” The members will work with the National Center for Coordination of Response Mechanism senior management and staffers to ensure the plan is rolled out.”
Also speaking, Environmental Protection Agency, Planning and Policy Director, Christopher Kaba, spoke about how the plan captured the environment and climate change, which is vital.
Speaking earlier, National Center for Coordination of Response Mechanism Deputy Executive Director Sophie Reeves described the plan as a milestone that seeks measurable impacts.
