MONROVIA, LIBERIA-An Environmental Advocacy Organization, Pollution Control Association of Liberia (POCAL), has embarked on an awareness campaign on regulating toxic plastics.
The Association is carrying out the campaign in partnership with the International Pollutants Elimination Network.
The project aims to develop a country situation report focusing on national regulatory gaps in the use of chemicals for making durable plastics and their impact in the Country.
POCAL Executive Director, Henry Williams, said,” The country report, when developed, will be used in combination with Global Data on Health, to ban said chemicals”.
Speaking on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Touch Academy School in Bassa Town, Paynesville, Mr. Williams disclosed that the project, which began in July 2025, is expected to end in April 2026.
