MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A report from the Civil Service Agency (CSA) has revealed that six hundred seventy-four Judiciary staff were verified in Montserrado County, representing thirty-three percent of the national workforce.
Out of this number, ninety-two had no academic qualifications, two hundred forty-three had only high school diplomas, and fifty-six presented questionable credentials.
Attendance was also a major problem, with nearly forty percent of employees facing penalties, one hundred twenty-seven at risk of salary cuts, and twenty-two to face suspension, and sixty-three possible dismissals.
The report further exposed imbalances, including a seventy percent male to thirty percent female staff ratio, eleven percent already at retirement age, twenty-two percent nearing retirement within a decade, one hundred fifty staff misplaced in their roles, and forty completely unqualified.
To address these gaps, the CSA has called for collapsing the dual payroll into one system, removing unqualified employees, enforcing stricter attendance, and digitizing HR records to restore credibility in Liberia’s Justice System.
