MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A Liberian Baptist Preacher, Rev. Emmett Dunn, has been announced as the National Orator of this year’s 178th Independence Day celebration.
Rev. Dunn is a presidential envoy for Partnership and Philanthropy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and also serves as Executive Secretary, Treasurer, and Executive Director of the Lott Carey Foreign Mission Convention.
His Ministry with the Baptist World Alliance provides skill leadership in the areas of youth leadership development, conflict resolution, mission and evangelism, church health, and wellness, amongst others.
Rev. Emmett Dunn formerly served as an Assistant Minister and Special Assistant of the Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia, the United States of America.
At the same time, the Government of Liberia has released the itinerary for this year’s Independence Day celebration, Saturday, July 26.
According to the Minister of Information, Jerolinmek Piah, several activities, including thanksgiving and prayer services, are expected to take place, the dedication of facilities constructed by the government, and sporting activities, among others.
Speaking at the MICAT Press briefing, the Minister said the government is expecting Heads of State, dignitaries, and international partners to grace the 178th Independence Day celebration to be held at the Centennial Pavilion in Monrovia.
