MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia National Bar Association (LNBA), under the leadership of its National President, Cllr. Bornor Varmah has welcomed and endorsed the nomination of Associate Justice Yemie Gbeisay as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia.
Recently, President Joseph Boakai nominated Associate Justice Gbeisay as Chief Justice of the High Court, pending confirmation by the Liberian Senate.
The LNBA considers the nomination as appropriate, expedient, and legally prudent, and a significant step in the right direction for the continued strengthening of the Liberian Judiciary.
In a statement signed by its Secretary General, Cllr. Elisha Forkeyor, the LNBA said.” Justice Gbeisay’s appointment reflects not only a commitment to legal excellence, but also to institutional continuity and integrity.”
The LNBA said Justice Gbeisay’s professional journey is an emblem of dedication and service to the rule of law, having risen from the ranks of the Judiciary.
It also said he brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the rudiments of the law.
The LNBA says it remains confident that under Justice Yemie Gbeisay’s stewardship, the Judiciary will continue to uphold justice, constitutionalism, and the rights of all Liberians.
