Accused “Christ the King” Church Priest Finally Surfaces at Criminal Court “E” in Monrovia…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Priest of “Christ the King Catholic Church” accused of raping one of his members’ daughters, has finally surfaced with a motion at Criminal Court ‘E’ seeking to dismiss his sexual offense case against him.

The request by Priest Denial George, age 32, is a result of the prosecuting lawyers’ failure to proceed with the matter since his arrest in October last year.

Priest George’s application to drop charges against him is consistent with Chapter 18, Section 18.2 of the Criminal Procedure Law, which states that an accused person shall be tried within two court terms.

It further states that failure on the part of the Prosecuting Attorneys to proceed with the matter warrants dismissal under the provision.

But our reporter revealed that since the arrest of the clergymen, prosecuting lawyers claimed that they were finding it difficult to proceed with defendant Daniel George’s alleged sex case in court.

According to them the victim’s mother, Kebbeh Wesseh, who alleged that her daughter was raped refused to come to court and provide evidence to regarding the matter.

The Prosecuting lawyers maintained that they cannot prosecute defendant Denial George because the victim’s mother was not making herself available in Court.
