Pres. Boakai Orders Justice Ministry to Promptly Examine…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has mandated the Justice Ministry and other security agencies to immediately investigate Wednesday’s fire incident at the Capitol.

President Boakai said:” My leadership will not tolerate such behavior, and the rule of law must be maintained.”

The Liberian Leader also emphasized the importance of addressing problems constructively for the benefit of future generations.

The President spoke on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, when he visited the Capitol, amidst the shocking fire incident, noting that the Capitol is not a place for hooligans, but a place for good decision-making.

President Joseph Boakai reiterated his administration’s commitment to peaceful resolution and national interest.

At the same time, the Liberian Government has announced a five thousand US Dollar reward for credible information on Wednesday’s fire outbreak at the Capitol.

Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah said:” The reward will be presented to any individual, entity or group that will provide tangible information about the incident.”

Minister, however, condemned the incident and called for a quick investigation to bring the perpetrators of the act to book and save the country from future threats.

Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah then urged Liberians and foreign residents to remain calm, as the ministry will update the public this Thursday, December 19, 2024, on the status of the matter.
