EU Amb. to Liberia Recognizes Rule of Law and Access to Justice as Vital…

GANTA, NIMBA COUNTY-The EU Ambassador to Liberia, Nona Deprez, says the rule of law and access to justice is vital to social cohesion and sustainable development.

Ambassador Deprez noted that accessible justice has an impact on economic growth, adding that an efficient system can detect crimes.

She said:” A functioning justice system has an impact on corruption and reduces it. Holding individuals and institutions accountable, which serves as a deterrent to others.”

The EU Ambassador further that a clear legal framework ensures that laws are applied fairly and consistently, adding that this fosters trust in institutions and promotes stability.

Madam Deprez made the statement on Friday, November 29,2024, when she served as keynote speaker at the National Convention of the Liberian National Bar Association in Ganta, Nimba County.

The EU Ambassador spoke on the theme: “Consolidating Efforts to Strengthen Quality Judicial Services to Increase Access to Justice for All”.
