“Majority Block” of the House of Rep. Vows to Remove Speaker Koffa

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Members calling themselves Majority Block of the House of Representatives have reiterated their stance to remove House Speaker Fonati Koffa.

The group of breakaway lawmakers cited Speaker Koffa’s alleged inability to fulfill his official duties, as the primary reason for their decision to seek his removal.

The also alleged of Cllr. Koffa’s corruption scandal and the flippant violation of the House’s rules, including conflict of interest.

At a news conference held over the weekend, the Majority Block reiterated their stance, asserting that the House should truly reflect the will and aspirations of the Liberian people.

According to them, they remain committed to restoring integrity and transparency within the nation’s leadership.

The lawmakers also pledged their dedication to ensuring that Liberia’s future is built on the principles of justice, accountability, and good governance.

Meanwhile, the aggrieved members of the House of Representatives are calling for the immediate resignation of Speaker Fonati Koffa.

According to them, Speaker Koffa has lost the moral and legal authority to lead them, and his resignation will restore honor, dignity, and respect to the House.

They clarified that their action to remove Speaker Koffa is not driven by personal gain, but a deep commitment to restoring integrity, and transparency to the House.

The Majority Block maintained that it will remain firm until Speaker Fonati Koffa is removed.
