Foreign Minister Nyanti Leads Major Campaign for UN Security Council’s Reform

Liberia’s Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow-Nyanti is leading a major campaign for the total reform of the United Nations Security Council.

Minister Nyanti said:” The current tools of the UN Security Council were initiated after World War II, and as such, they cannot address current-day realities.”

The Chief Liberian Diplomat emphasized the urgent need for a total overhaul of the systems, principles, and functions of the UN Security Council, to ensure its vibrancy.

Minister Nyanti made the call recently at the UN on the Global Stage Headquarters in New York, the United States.

Meanwhile, the Liberian Foreign Minister also used the occasion to champion Africa’s call for permanent representation on the United Nations Security Council.
