Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission Assesses Off-Budget Spending Claims

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) says it is reviewing allegations regarding off-budget spending by the Government of Liberia amounting to fifteen million dollars.

According to the LACC, off-budget expenditure, if confirmed, can undermine public trust in governance, weaken fiscal discipline, and pose risks to the country’s financial integrity.

The LACC termed the allegations serious, vowing to launch a comprehensive investigation to determine the accuracy and ensure proper legal procedures are followed.

A release quotes the anti-graph institution as assuring Liberians of its commitment to conduct an impartial investigation with utmost transparency and independence.

The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission disclosed that actions, including recommending sanctions, prosecutions, and other corrective measures will be taken if evidence of financial mismanagement is discovered.
