Liberia Revenue Authority Denies Media Reports…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) has denied media reports that it purchased a vehicle worth one-hundred-fifty US Dollars for the Commerce Ministry.

The LRA, however, confirmed approving a request by the Commerce Ministry in early May 2024, for ninety-six thousand US Dollars as support for the purchase of vehicles.

According to a release issued from the LRA recently, the money was expected to come from its Customs Capacity Building Fund under the Destination Inspectorate (DI) contract held with MEDTECH Scientific Limited.

The vehicles, the LRA said are intended for trade-related activities in collaboration with customs and clarified that the vehicles’ specifications and deployment are within the Commerce Ministry and not determined by the LRA.
