Finance Ministry, Civil Service Agency Announce Temporary Payroll Blocking of Unverified Civil Servants

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning and the Civil Service Agency (CSA) have announced a temporary blocking of more than six thousand unverified Civil Servants on the Liberian Government’s Payroll.

It followed their reported failure to participate in the General Auditing Commission (GAC) Payroll Compliance Audit in 2021 and a ninety-day post-audit verification exercise.

According to a CSA release issued recently, the individuals identified will be temporarily blocked, pending a two-month verification exercise, commencing on Monday, September 2, 2024, to November 4 this year.

The release re-emphasized that the Government is particularly concerned by how the past administration caused leakages by enrolling false names in the payroll system.

Meanwhile, the CSA has assured that the exercises are meant to restore the integrity of the Civil Service by weeding out unscrupulous individuals bent on stealing from the Liberian Government.
