Justice Chambers Kaba Places Stay Order on Police Inspector Gen.’s Decision…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Justice in Chambers at the Supreme Court of Liberia has placed a stay order on the Police Inspector General‘s decision to retire some police officers.

Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman allegedly retired the Police Chief for Public Safety, Commissioner, John Saah, and others.

Associate Justice Yussif Kaba issued the Alternative Writ of Prohibition on Col. Coleman’s action following a petition filed by lawyers representing the police officers.

Justice Kaba’s writ has mandated the Police Inspector General to return to the Status Quo Ante by re-instating the retired police officers, pending the conclusion of the matter.

The Associate Justice also instructed Col. Coleman to file his response on or before August 23 to set to stage for litigation.

The senior police officers’ petition to the Court accused the Police Inspector General of removing them from their various positions and forcing them into early retirement.
