Criminal Court ‘B’ Jurors Find Defendant Joefula Guilty for Murder

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Jurors at Criminal Court ‘B’ have handed down a unanimous guilty verdict against defendant Charles Joefula for murder.

Defendant Joefula was indicted on August 23, 2023, for reportedly killing Jonnette Smallwood with a Single Barrel Gun in Zinc Camp Community, Logan Town, on Bushrod Island.

The victim was immediately rushed to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police had earlier charged defendant Joefula with impersonation and for illegally bearing the firearm as an officer of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA).

Meanwhile, the sentencing of the murder convict will be announced, following reports from the Probation Office of the Ministry of Justice as provided for by law.
