Angry Protesters Sets Salala Rubber Company Central Office Ablaze

MARGIBI COUNTY, LIBERIA-People believed to be workers of the Salala Rubber Company (SRC) in Weala, Margibi County, on Thursday staged a protest destroying the Company’s facilities.

ELBC Margibi County Correspondent said:” The protesters stormed the residential area and set ablaze the General Manager’s residence before burning the Company’s Central Office.”

A perceived lack of interest in the plight of the workers by the Management of the SRC reportedly triggers the protest.

The Plantation workers have recently been on a go-slow action, trying to claim the attention of the Management.

Our Correspondent said so far the police have made no arrests.
