Nat’l Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority Calls for Collaboration…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA) is calling for collaboration to end illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing.

NaFAA’s Director General Emma Glassco wants the Fisheries Committee for the West Central Gulf of Guinea and West Africa Task Force to lead the fight.

Madam Glassco believes that such a fight if achieved, will boost the Fishery Sector in West Africa and foster international best practices.

She, however, boasted of massive gains at NaFAA, especially the development of a monitoring, control, and surveillance manual, and staff capacity development, among others.

Madam Emma Glassco’s statement was contained in a release following the end of the Sixteen Regional Meeting of the Fisheries Committee for the West Central Gulf of Guinea and West Africa Task Force held in Monrovia.
