Agriculture Ministry, Partners Earmark Nationwide Soil Specification Exercise

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Agriculture and partners have earmarked a nationwide soil specification exercise, beginning with North Central Liberia to boost food production.

Deputy Agriculture Minister for Technical Services, Solomon Hedd Williams, said:” The soil specification will employ a scientific approach to assist farmers to find suitable soil for good and other crops cultivation.

Minister Williams told ELBC ON Sunday, June 16, 2024, that the initiative aligns with the Government of Liberia’s first pillar on Agriculture, ensuring the country’s quest for self-sufficiency in food production is realized.

He also spoke of plans by the Agriculture Ministry to hire and deploy agriculture soil specialists across the country to work along with farmers.

Deputy Minister Solomon Hedd Williams said the National Agriculture Plan is on course and called on farmers to embrace the plan with hard work and dedication.
