MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Swedish Ambassador to Liberia, Urban Sjostrom, has reaffirmed Sweden’s partnership with Liberia to make Public Service more effective.

Ambassador Sjostrom said:” Strengthening public service is key to ensuring adequate and sustainable living conditions for the citizenry.”

The Swedish Ambassador to Liberia also described effective Public Service as a critical component of national growth and development.

Ambassador Sjostrom made the commitment on Monday, June 10, 2024, in Congo Town, at the opening of the Civil Service Agency week-long Executive Onboarding gathering.

The goal of the exercise is to enhance the skills of new appointees of the Liberian Government and make them more effective and efficient in their respective institutions.

Meanwhile, the Director General of the Cabinet, Nathaniel Kwabo, has called on Heads of Government Ministries and Agencies to participate in the ongoing CSA Executive Onboarding Exercise.

Mr. Kwabo said:” The exercise is key to enhancing quality and effective leadership in Public Service.”

The Director General of the Cabinet also reiterated President Joseph Boakai’s firmness on the performance of public officials.

Mr. Nathaniel Kwabo then lauded the Civil Service Agency for organizing the exercise geared towards making public service more effective.

At the same time, the CSA Director General, Josiah Joekai, said:” The week-long process emphasizes the importance of the Code of Conduct, transparency and accountability in public service.”

Mr. Jokai said the exercise will also equip senior public servants and officials with the necessary skills to contribute positively to Liberia’s development.

The CSA is conducting the exercise in collaboration with the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA).

The FBA is the Swedish Government’s agency for peace, security, and development and it conducts training and research, to strengthen peace and state-building in conflict and post-conflict countries.
