Liberian Muslims Arrive in Medina on Pilgrimage to Mecca

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberian Muslims have arrived in Medina, Saudi Arabia, on the first leg of their pilgrimage to Mecca.

According to the President of the National Muslim Council of Liberia, Alhaji Sheriff, all two hundred-forty pilgrims are safe and well.

Alhaji Sheriff said:” The Liberian Muslims will continue their journey to Mecca, Mina, Arafat, and other religious sites during the pilgrimage.”

The annual Haji is one of the five pillars of Islam that must be performed once in the life of a Muslim who can afford to make the spiritual journey.
