Friday, May 24, 2024, Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County – The Zwedru City Magisterial Court has sentenced a man, identified as Elijah Moses to six months for impersonation.

Impersonation is crime and a violation chapter 12.35 of the penal law of the Republic of Liberia and is punishable by a 1 year jail term.

On May 7, Elijah was reported to Police for investigation after a lady claimed he stole her telephone some years back and left for Monrovia.

Our Correspondent said, Elijah then appeared at the police station in a complete military attire but was soon identified as a civilian by one of the officers.

Elijah Moses pleaded guilty when his charges were read out to him in Court, prompting Magistrate Shed Dweh to reduce his sentencing to six months instead of the one-year term stipulated by law.

He is currently serving his jail term at the National Palace of Corrections in Zwedru.
