BONG COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Agriculture has begun a two-day agricultural landscape validation workshop for the development of the National Agriculture Development Documents.

The event is being held under the theme:” Charting a Path to Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security”, and brought together agriculture stakeholders, including development partners.

The gathering is validating four critical agricultural documents, including the National Agriculture Development Plan, which lays out specific agricultural priorities of the Government of Liberia under the A.R.E.S.T Agenda for the next five to six years.

Speaking to journalists at the opening of the event on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in Bong County, Agriculture Minister Alexander Nutah rallied the support of the Government and development partners for the full implementation of the documents.

He also called on the Liberian Senate for an increment of budgetary allotment to the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure a successful implementation of the Country’s agriculture agenda.

The Agriculture Minister said:” The Country’s vision for agriculture will be reflected in the National Agriculture Development Plan, upon validation, and stakeholders should align with the document.”
