Liberia’s Gender Ministry Urges Workers to Perform Duties with Professionalism

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Gender Minister, Gbeme Horace-Kollie, has urged workers of the Ministry to perform their duties with Professionalism, respect, and honesty.

Minister Horace-Kollie believes such attributes promote institutional growth and development.

The Gender Minister made the remarks Thursday at the close of a two-day retreat organized by the Ministry.

The retreat highlights gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the advancement of gender-related policies and programs.

It also focused on the importance of data-driven decisions and evidence-based policy formulation in driving meaningful change.

Meanwhile, UN Women Representative, Comfort Lamptey, has reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the partnership with the Gender Ministry to build upon lessons learned.

According to her, there is a need for deep reflection, frank discussions, and renewed vigor to gender-related issues, especially affecting women and girls.

Madam Lamptey also wants partners to develop practical strategies to impact women and girls positively.

She noted that the UN Women envisions a vibrant collaboration with the Gender Ministry to improve the sector.

Madam Lamptey spoke on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the end of a two-day retreat with the Gender Ministry.
