Movement for Economic Empowerment Expels Members…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) has condemned some expelled members and a few unauthorized leadership members for stating behavior of the Party’s National Executive Committee.

A statement issued at the weekend by a group of the Party’s Stalwart led by its Assistant Deputy National Secretary General, Jeremiah Edison Paye, announced the immediate removal of Chairman Robert Sammie and several other top executives.

The group calling itself majority members of MOVEE said their action reached a National Executive Committee siting based on the violation of the constitution by Mr. Sammie and three of his vice chairpersons.

But MOVEE National Acting Chairman, Matthew Shan, told a news conference that Mr. Sammie and all N.E.C. members on diplomatic missions around the world remain in their respective positions.

The MOVEE Acting National Chairman clarified that no executive of the Party has been adjudged for violating the constitution.

Meanwhile, Mr. Matthew Shan says Jeremiah Edison Paye and other collaborators have been forwarded to the Party’s Grievance and Ethics Committee for investigation over the issuance of an unauthorized statement on behalf of the Party.
