Unity Party of Liberia Withdraws Petition of Declaratory Judgment against House Speaker Koffa

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Unity Party (UP) has withdrawn its petition of Declaratory Judgment against Speaker Fonati Koffa and the National Elections Commission (NEC).

It means that the UP will not pursue the matter now based on the withdrawal.

On Monday, January 15, 2024, the UP filed a petition for Declaratory Judgment, alleging that Cllr. Koffa is a US Citizen and therefore not qualified for the position.

The Civil Law Court issued a Writ of Summons for Speaker Fonati Koffa and the National Elections Commission (NEC) to file their response on or before January 25, this year.
