Joint Security of Liberia Warns Political Parties against Declaring Results…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Joint Security of Liberia has warned political parties against declaring their own results of the upcoming Presidential Run-Off Election.

The Joint Security Head, Cllr. Musa Dean said:” Announcing results in the absence of the Commission’s official declaration is a provocation and a recipe for violence.”

Justice Minister Dean told a press conference on Friday, November 10, 2023, that the NEC is the only entity authorized by law to announce election results and declare winners.

He then urged politicians and registered voters to participate in the process peacefully; assuring that the security of voters is guaranteed.

Justice Minister Musa Dean at the same time stressed that the Joint Security will also exercise restraint, but reasonable and proportionate force will be used on any unlawful aggressions.
