MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Montserrado County District 15 Representative has declared a day of mourning in the district as a mark of respect for victims of the fire incident in Caldwell New Georgia.

The fire incident killed five members of a family in the Caldwell New Georgia Community, and all the victims, including two children, were females.

Speaking at the scene of the incident on Monday, September 25, 2023, Representative Abu Kamara described the tragedy as a loss of three generations within the family, referencing the mother, daughters, and grandchildren.

Also at the scene, the Executive Director of the National Disaster Management Agency, Henry Williams, expressed condolences to the family and called for more awareness of fire-related disasters.
