35-Year-Old-Man Jail for Allegedly Trafficking Several Persons…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A thirty-five-year-old man, identified as Yacouba Sawadogo, has been sent to jail for allegedly trafficking several persons from Sierra Leon to Liberia.

Defendant Yacouba allegedly recruited and transported the victims, from 2022-2023, under the guise of providing them travel opportunities to Canada, but were diverted to the business plan.

The victims told investigators that they paid one thousand United States Dollars each to the defendant and his accomplices.

Some of the victims were prevented from contacting their families back in Sierra Leone and after their payments; they were requested to bring two persons each in order to travel.
