Transitional Justice Commission should be free of political influence……..-Charles Coffey

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Press Union Liberia (PUL) says proposed establishment of the Transitional Justice Commission by the Liberian Senate should be void of political influence, discrimination and conflict of interest.

The President of the PUL said the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) is a roadmap that would lead to the War and Economic Crimes Court in Liberia, noting that its establishment should be acceptable to the Liberian people.

Mr. Charles Coffey said: “Even though I supports the establishment of the Court, it cannot be achieved without resolving the controversy between the TRC Liberian Constitution.”

Mr. Charles Coffey spoke over the weekend when he addressed the Liberian Senate on its recommendation for the establishment of the TRC.
