Gov. Launches Headcount Exercise as Part of Payroll Clean up Drive

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has launched a headcount exercise as part of its payroll cleanup drive.

The exercise would see the Payroll Cleanup Taskforce visit the Liberian Government Ministries and Agencies, to physically match employees with numbers on the payroll.

Addressing a special edition of the Ministry of Information Press Briefing on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, the Head for Internal Agency Payroll Clean up Taskforce, Del Francis Wreh, said:” Individual caught in payroll fraud would be prosecuted, and those found guilty of double dipping or on multiple Government payrolls will restitute all stolen funds.”

He said the move is intended to ensure that the Government of Liberia does not continue to spend money that would have been diverted to development projects.
