Internal Affairs Minister, Varney Sirleaf, condemns use of country devil electoral process

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – Internal Affairs Minister, Varney Sirleaf, has condemned the unleashing of country devils and traditional practices in election processes.

Minister Sirleaf made specific reference to the incident that occurred in Gbarpolu County, where it was reported that the country devil was brought out during the disputed election in the County.

He described the act as a violation of other citizens’ rights. The Internal Affairs Minister, however, commended Liberians for their maturity demonstrated during the just ended elections and referendum.

Speaking to ELBC Wednesday, Minister Sirleaf also praised the National Elections Commission for ensuring the peaceful conduct of the elections.
