MONROVIA, LIBERIA- Liberia’s application for the COVID-19 Vaccine has been accepted by the GAVI Alliance.

GAVI is a global health partnership of public and private organizations dedicated to immunization for all.

Making the disclosure on Tuesday, December 29.2020, the Program Manager of the expanded program on immunization at the Ministry of Health, Adolphus Clarke, said:” Now that Liberia has been accepted by the global health body, modalities are being worked out to ensure that the Country benefit from the vaccine.”

He added that the acceptance of the Country’s application for the vaccine is a boost for the Liberian health sector.

Mr. Clarke did not disclose when the vaccine will arrive, but expressed optimism that the arrival of the COVID-19 Vaccine will minimize the number of infections in Liberia and the world.
