Nat’l Elections Commission declares eight candidates winners in the 2020 December 8 Senatorial Elections

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Elections Commission (NEC) has declared eight candidates winners in the 2020 December 8 Mid-Term Senatorial Elections.

The latest to be declared winner is the People’s Unification Party (PUP) candidate Mr. Emmanuel Nuquay of Margibi County’

According to NEC Chairperson Davidetta Browne-Lansanah, Mr. Nuquay obtained 33, 933 votes, constituting 59.41 percent.

She said:” Mr. Simeon Taylor of the Collaborating Political Party (CPP) of Grand Cape Mount County, and the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC)’s James Biney of Maryland County are also winners.”

Madam Browne-Lansanah, however, said that the Commission is working to ensure impasse characterizing the elections matters in Gbarpolu and Grand Kru Counties are addressed.

More provisional results are expected to be released by the National Elections Commission, in the coming days.
