Nat’l Elections Com. refutes reports alleging the Commission will deny voters without masks

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Elections Commission (NEC) has described as untrue, reports alleging that the Commission will not allow voters without masks to vote in the December 8, 2020 Elections.

The Commission, in a release issued Sunday, December 6, 2020, said the reports are misleading and urged the public not to give credence to unsanctioned regulations from the NEC.

The Commission is therefore warning misguided individuals engaged in the spreading of such rumors to immediately desist in the interest of democratic governance.

NEC is at the same time calling on the more than 2.4 million Liberians to exercise their civil rights to fully participate in the in the electoral process.

Meanwhile, the Commission said final deployment of sensitive and non-sensitive election materials, as well as temporary staff of the Commission is currently ongoing.
