MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has finally released investigative findings into the deaths of four Liberians who died under mysterious circumstances in Monrovia.

According to the reports, Albert Peters and Gifty Lama, both employees of the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) were discovered dead in the vehicle of Mr. Peters in the morning hours of October 2, 2020, on Broad Street.

Releasing the findings at a special Ministry of Information, Culture Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) press conference Tuesday, November 24, 2020, Justice Minister Cllr. Musa Dean attributed the deaths of Gifty Lama and Albert Peters to Carbon Monoxide poisoning and fumes from defective car exhaust system.

Quoting the autopsy report, Cllr. Dean said:” The deaths of both Gifty Lama and Albert Peters were unnatural but accidental.”

The Justice Minister said substances from the vehicle affected the brains and soft tissues of the two, and no fracture or dislocation was uncovered.

At the same time, Justice Minister Musa Dean said the death of former Head of Internal Audit Agency (IAA) Emmanuel Nyenswa, was unnatural and requires further detective investigation from police.

Cllr. Dean said the autopsy report indicates that the former IAA Boss died of massive injury to the head, chest and abdomen, which resulted from falling from height.

According to Justice Minister Dean, Mr. Nyeswa died at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital hour after he was rushed from his home, where he was discovered by Security Guard lying on the ground with blood oozing out of his ear.

The Attorney-General said the autopsy report indicates that George Famboto’s death was accidental, after being involved in a motor accident on the SKD Boulevard.

He said the autopsies on the bodies of the four Liberians were ordered after circumstances surrounding their deaths were deemed suspicious.
