Pres. Weah reaffirms Gov’s commitment to safeguard the peace

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has reaffirmed Government’s commitment to safeguard the peace ahead of the ensuing Senatorial Elections.

President Weah said:” Government will ensure no individual, irrespective of political or religious affiliation, be harassed or attacked before or after the December 8 Mid-Term Senatorial Elections.”

The Liberian Chief Executive urged Liberians to build an all-inclusive, peaceful and prosperous society for the attainment of Government’s Development plans.

President Weah made the remarks in a Special Statement released Sunday, August 2, 2020 in reaction to the recent violent event incident in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County.

In the statement, President Weah expressed serious concern over the incident and called for an impartial investigation, for those responsible to account for their actions.
