Roberts Int’l Airport extends reopening

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has extended by one week the reopening of the Roberts International Airport (RIA) in Lower Margibi County.

As part of easing the lockdown and reopening the economy, the Government announced that the RIA will be opened on June 21, 2020.

But speaking to ELBC Friday, Information Minister, Eugene Nagbe, said:” President George Weah has instructed the Airport Management to reopen on Sunday, June 28, 2020.”

Minister Nagbe said:” President Weah wants a critical review of the Airport reopening plan to avoid any breach of health protocols.”

Minister Nagbe said the Liberian Leader gave the directive Thursday, June 18, 2020, during a meeting with Health Authorities, the Transport Minister and the Management of the Liberia Airport Authority.
